Butterfield Stage/Temecula YSA Week 11 - Nerf War

Hey everyone!
So this week was also a little bit slow as far as investigator work goes. We didn't get to teach anyone, but we have lots of potentials and upcoming opportunities. We have done a ton of work with less actives. We've seen a lot of success with that!

This last week we had interviews with President. Those are always good!  I really love and am grateful for President Thomas! We also had exchanges! I was with Elder Pickleseimer. He is from Dayton Ohio. He goes home in a few weeks. We had a lot of fun!
We also had a super cool nerf war with the YSA. It was super cool! We had a couple recent converts and non members there!
Sorry not a lot to email about again! Have a  great week! Love you!

Butterfield Stage/Temecula YSA Week 10 - Zone Conference and Gators @ Church

Hey everyone,

This last week went by really fast. None of our investigators made any progress this last week, but we are doing tons of work with less actives and other people that aren't attending the YSA branch. Sorry, there aren't any really exciting stories or events that happened.
We had zone conference on Wednesday. That was really great! I always enjoy those.

Saturday we had exchanges with the AP's. I was with Elder Romney for it. We did a bunch of stop bys and got in with a couple people. We almost ran over 2 homeless people walking across main streets at night. People are crazy.

Sunday a lot of cool stuff happened in the YSA branch. We had a TON of people attend. There were 2 investigators there that we didn't invite, but were brought by members. Liz was one of them, which was awesome because none of us were expecting her! The other was a girl our elders quorum president brought and has been working with for years! There also were a bunch of RM's that haven't attended before.

Yesterday we had a really cool experience. We had a lesson with a girl named Sam who was baptized a couple weeks ago in another ward, but is YSA aged. We invited her to come to FHE (which was starting when we were with her) and she came! She had a really great time. The cool thing was our investigator Liz went up to her and asked if she could talk to her about what made her want to join the church. We haven't taught Liz for a while and she hasn't made much progress on her own. That conversation was definitely a game changer for her!

Today we went on a hike with our zone! I don't have my camera with me so I can't send pictures, but it was awesome! We went out by Vail Lake in temecula. We were right by a members property and his dog came with us!

That's all I got for this week! Have a good one! Love you!

Butterfield Stage/Temecula Valley YSA Week 9 - ZTM and Blessings

Hey everyone!

This last week was good! We had zone training meeting. That was pretty good. We trained on keeping commitments and following up. It went pretty well.

We taught Janet Butters again. We talked about the importance of keeping commitments (practicing what we preached) and why it's important to read the Book of Mormon. She voiced a few concerns that I feel like will be easily resolved.

We also got a lot done with the YSA branch. We visited a ton of less actives and invited them to attend and also a lot of actives that attend the family wards. There is a lot of potential there and we are hoping to grow the branch.

Yesterday we had a cool experience after our first ward. We were stopping people on our YSA list and felt inspired to stop by a less active we never met. When we knocked, a woman came to the door. She said she was sick and that she couldn't go to church today. We felt inspired to ask her if she needed a blessing. She said, "How did you know?!" She went on to tell us she was waiting for a liver transplant and she had been trying to get a blessing but she couldn't get a hold of anyone. It was a really sweet blessing and seemed to help her. It's interesting how God uses us sometimes. We think we are doing one thing, but Heavenly Father is putting us somewhere for another purpose.

I love you all and hope you have a good week!

Butterfield Stage/Temecula Valley YSA Week 8 - Sick Week and Birthday

Hey everyone. This week was really long and very hard. On Monday I woke up feeling extremely weak and tired. Tuesday I woke up feeling a lot worst and we went to the doctor. We found out the pneumonia had come back and it was just as bad, if not worst, than before. I got put on more antibiotics and got injections 3 times during the week. Worst of all, I was not allowed to work for 3 days and I am not allowed to exercise or play sports for 2-3 months... I felt super weak and tired all week, but am feeling better. Hopefully I kick it this week.

The only thing I was really able to attend was meetings, lunches, and dinners. We had zone welcome on Wednesday and we had to drive people around to get groceries. It made me exhausted. We had lunch with Ian Lumsden on Thursday for my birthday. We went to Red Robin, which is where Jake and I would always go as a kid! It was a lot of fun.

On Friday we went to MLC. It was also my birthday. It was a good meeting. We went to dinner at the Fords. They made me a cake and gave me a couple presents. It was super nice of them!

Sunday we had Stake Correlation meeting with the stake, mission president, and all the ward mission leaders. It was good! We had church all day and just stopped by people at night.

Thank you for all the birthday cards and packages! I really appreciated it! I love you all and hope you have a good week!
