The Book of Mormon, Children of God, and #God'sSquad

Another busy week in paradise...
We had a pretty successful week in my opinion. We had a pretty solid zone conference on Tuesday. They talked a ton about the Book of Mormon and how powerful a tool it is in our teaching. A lot of the time we hesitate to use the Book of Mormon to help resolve concerns because not everyone believes in it like the Bible, but there is a spirit with the Book of Mormon. It's not more important than the Bible, but it's no less important either. If people come to know the Book of Mormon is true and the teachings in it are true then they will be able to gain a testimony of the reality of Christ's living church upon the earth. I don't know about you guys, but I think that's a pretty good think to know! So we've been trying to find ways to apply it.

Stephanie is doing great! We only got to teach her once this last week. We taught her the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which talks about faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the holy ghost, and enduring to the end. She's been excited for it. She talked to us about moving her baptism back because her boyfriend will be visiting her from Utah the end of June and because he got her all started on this, she wants him to be there. We said that would be acceptable :) She came to church and she is absolutely killing it! She told her ride home that she felt at home when she was there. The Spirit is the best. Glad he's on our team! We have another lesson with her tomorrow and then she goes to Utah to meet the man that started this all for the first time! So hopefully it goes well :) She's so golden and we're pumped for her!

We had a few meetings to prepare for, lots of planning to do, and we decided that we were going to clean out the apartment. Like, really clean it! After having missionaries for so long they get pretty nasty! It took a few hours, but HOLY COW! It feels so nice. I'm not the most organized individual, but the spirit is so much more welcome in a place of order and cleanliness.

We had such a powerful experience with Angel, a recent convert, this last week. Her parents live in Japan and they were not happy about her joining the church at all! She has planned on serving a mission since she was baptized and she told them this last week that she was planning on doing that. They did not take it well. We were able to give her a blessing and have been trying to help her. It's been rough. She's been so sad. At church we saw her and she was not her usual happy self at all. She just had a sad face and sat on the side bench away from everyone else. We sat by her. During sacrament the Stake Relief Society President spoke and said she woke up at 3 AM and felt like she needed to change the topic she was assigned and didn't know why, but she felt like someone needed to hear it. She went on to talk about her conversion story when she was 19, how her parents were very mad and made it hard, how she decided to serve a mission, and how that choice blessed her family. It was obvious to us that it was for Angel.

Ladies and gentlemen... You're all children of God and whether you like it or not. That's the truth and that's just the way it is. He loves us and is aware of all our needs and circumstances. Always keep your head up and your knees down. Heavenly Father is always there to help His children regardless of the choices they make or the trials they go through. If there is anything you get from this email (and if you honestly read this far rather than just looking at the pictures you, know Elder Kapp loves you especially much) JUST KNOW THIS! Heavenly Father loves you. It is not conditional to your obedience or diligence in the gospel. It's constant. Whether you feel that love or are blessed by it all depends on you and your obedience and diligence and faith. Trust God. Read the Book of Mormon EVERY DAY this week and I promise you will feel His love greater and your faith will grow.

#God'sSquad after Zone Conference. We asked Sister Thomas to take a picture of just a few of us, but more walked by and we invited them all in. It turned out really cool!
